"Focusing on sustainable development and comprehensively promoting the utilization of waste soil resources"
The Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) include 17 clear and achievable goals, including underground space, land, and soil management. Years of experience have shown that it will be difficult to achieve SDGs without fully realizing the rational development of underground space, rational protection of land, and rational utilization of abandoned soil.
Focusing on sustainable development and comprehensively promoting the utilization of waste soil resources
Strengthen the reuse of abandoned soil
Tunnels and underground construction are common means of underground space development, and the large amount of abandoned soil generated by engineering usually has good reuse value, which needs to be systematically recognized and managed. Strengthening the reuse of abandoned soil, promoting the restoration and improvement of ecosystems, and promoting circular economy solutions can contribute well to achieving sustainable development goals. Reasonable management of waste soil and wastewater can help us achieve at least 8 out of these 17 goals, as listed in the figure.
With the rapid development of urban underground space development, engineering waste soil, as a byproduct of engineering construction, has attracted more and more attention. According to statistics, the total amount of waste soil generated by subway shield tunnels under construction in China has exceeded 225 million cubic meters. Shield tunneling waste soil is composed of sand, rock, pebbles, clay, and chemical modification additives. A large amount of untreated waste soil has become an important environmental problem that urgently needs to be solved in the process of urban development.
Research on the Resource Utilization Technology of Shield Tunneling Engineering Waste Soil
At present, there is a huge amount of waste soil in shield tunneling projects in China, and the technical standards and industrial scale for resource utilization are relatively lagging behind. The treatment methods are still mainly stacking and landfill, which has a serious impact on the surrounding environment of cities. Therefore, conducting research on the resource utilization and reuse technology of shield tunneling project waste soil has important practical significance and application value.
Biaosheng Technology Experiment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is currently committed to the management research of tunnel construction waste soil and wastewater. We cooperate with world-class universities to jointly study this topic.
We have summarized the workflow of waste soil management.
We are currently looking for domestic construction enterprises committed to sustainable development to jointly research and develop waste soil and wastewater management. If you are interested in our topic, please feel free to contact us.
